Vacancy re-announcement: Program Officer and Graphic Designer

Yuwalaya is a purely youth-led, non-profit, non-government organization working for and with youths and adolescents of Nepal. Yuwalaya is established by child club graduates and seeks to create platform for adolescents, youths and especially child clubs graduates aiming to encourage them to achieve its goals and objectives.

Yuwalaya is hiring personnel for the following positions to execute its projects:

Program Officer
Six months with possible extension
Responsibilities

  1. Manage implementation of Yuwalaya projects as per the work plan and finances/budget
  2. Lead the project team including supervising and guiding the team members to implement the projects
  3. Prepare quality reports (monthly/quarterly/project end) to submit to donors
  4. Liaise with government offices, donors and local partners and represent Yuwalaya during meetings with them
  5. Work closely with the Executive Board to develop proposals and concept notes
  6. Coordinate with the Executive Board to execute various programs, regular activities and project specific assignments

Qualification and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized institution
  2. Knowledge of project management and proposal development
  3. Excellent English and Nepali language skills
  4. Advanced computer skills including MS Office and social media
  5. Team spirit and ability to work under pressure
  6. Proactive and ability to work with minimum supervision
  7. Communication skills and learning attitude
  8. Sensitivity towards children and child-friendly approach and behaviors
  9. Willingness and ability for field visit
  10. Experience in programs with children and/or youth and adolescents will be an advantage.


Graphic Designer
Six months with possible extension
Responsibilities

  1. Illustrate conceptualized materials into graphs and figures for publication
  2. Design behavior change communication (BCC) materials as and when required for the organization

Qualification and Experience
  1. Higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized institution
  2. Good English and Nepali language skills
  3. Passion about illustration/drawing/design
  4. Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and/or related software
  5. Creativity, learning attitude and interest on child and adolescent issues
  6. Team spirit and ability to work under pressure
  7. Sensitivity toward children and child-friendly approach and behaviors
  8. Experience in programs associated with children and/or youth and adolescents will be an advantage.
  9. Preference will be given to students of Fine Arts.


Duty station: Kathmandu with frequent field visits in different districts of Nepal
Working hours: Full time
Salary: As per the organizational policy and rules
Commencement: Urgent
