MENstruation talk with MEN

On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, youth-led organization Yuwalaya in coordination with youth radio talk show 'Saathi Sanga Manka Kura' organized the MENstruation talk with MEN, on Saturday, May 21.

Total 20 young men aged 15-24 participated in the interaction where they discussed various aspects of menstruation.

During the interaction, participants discussed taboos and stigmas related to menstruation and how such harmful traditions are hindering the girls and women of Nepal to grow. They also discussed what they can do as men to end menstruation-related harmful myths and taboos.

The Menstrual Hygiene Day is being celebrated with the theme "Menstruation Matters: to Everyone, Everywhere" this year.

To end taboos and stigmatization associated with menstruation and its harmful effects, the Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated on May 28 every year, for last three years.

Yuwalaya has been marking this Day since 2014 with various events engaging youth.
